CAH Compass Pro Bono Program Topic Interest Survey

How interested are you in the following workshop topics?
1.Tools to Supercharge Collaboration/Communication on Distributed Teams

Does your staff follow a hybrid schedule? Working across geographies and time zones is becoming increasingly common, even at small organizations. With more than 10 years of distributed collaboration under their belts, the Compass Pro Bono team is intimately familiar with the challenges—and opportunities—of hybrid work, both within and across regions. Learn about the unique tools and strategies the team has implemented to mitigate the challenges of hybrid work, and how they can help supercharge remote and in-person collaboration at your organization.
2.Know Your Business: Tools to Position Your Nonprofit for Success at Every Stage

Building organizational capacity within a constantly-changing social impact landscape demands adaptability. But growing, rebuilding, and embracing change can seem to threaten the vision, value proposition, and team culture that enabled your organization’s impact in the first place. What does it take to maintain momentum while effectively reevaluating organizational strategy along the way? Participants will walk away with three frameworks for strategic alignment, prioritized for implementation based on their unique organizational needs.
3.Turning One-Time Volunteers into Lifelong Organizational Champions

Volunteers can be a crucial part of a nonprofit’s impact infrastructure—but, by definition, their commitment to your mission is limited in both time and scope. As a nonprofit leader, what does it take to build a consistent, reliable volunteer base? And what untapped opportunities for further engagement might allow your volunteers to contribute more deeply, meaningfully, and sustainably to your work? Participants will walk away with specific frameworks for tapping into the full potential of volunteers—and getting them to come back over and over again.
4.Beat Burnout and Turnover: How to Establish Role Clarity and Make it Stick

It’s time to address the elephant in the sector: nonprofits are infamous for wearing their staff thin. Self-reported employee burnout and voluntary turnover are higher at nonprofits than in other sectors, and recent surveys show that large numbers of nonprofit staff are considering departing their roles within the next year. As a nonprofit leader, you may feel like your hands are tied: after all, there’s only so much money in the budget for raises and bonuses. But money is only a small part of the problem—and the solution. The next frontier of burnout prevention and mitigation begins higher up on the job listing; it shows up in every interview, meeting agenda, and staff retreat. Role clarity can drastically increase the impact and efficiency of staff time, what it really takes to maintain divisions of labor day-to-day, setting employees up for long-term success when they encounter the “grey areas” between their own roles and those of other staff (or even volunteers). Participants will walk away with step-by-step frameworks for advocating for—and achieving—role clarity at their organizations.
