Context:
Established in 2024, the Edinburgh Advice Network (EAN) brings together advice providers to strengthen collaboration, share resources, and enhance access to training opportunities. Member organisations offer advice on a range of issues, including benefits, debt, housing, energy, and immigration.
EAN was developed in response to the Review of Welfare Rights and Debt Advice in Edinburgh, published in 2022, which recommended investing in a strengthened network of providers to build on existing relationships, support resource and training sharing, and ensure better coordination across the sector.
Shaped by its members, EAN promotes integration and partnership working through regular meetings, events, and ongoing information sharing. The network aligns with the city's commitment to providing high-quality, accessible advice services for all residents and supports the delivery of key recommendations from the Advice Review, including:
- Investing in the development of an enhanced advice network in Edinburgh.
- Building on existing relationships to strengthen collaboration.
- Enabling resource and training sharing among providers.
- Ensuring dedicated staff support to engage members and drive the network forward.
EAN operates with the support of the Edinburgh Advice Partnership, ensuring strategic alignment with city-wide efforts to improve advice provision and reduce financial hardship.
