Capturing Community Ideas of Age and Ageing

This short anonymous survey aims to capture some of your views and ideas about age and ageing in our LGBTQ+ Communities in Ireland. It forms part of a current GCN project funded by The Community Foundation. Preliminary results will be analysed in the February 2024 Issue of GCN.

For the first time In Ireland, we have multiple generations of LGBTQ+ people living open lives, we are coming out younger, we are living longer, and our communities are increasingly diverse. The ideas of age and ageing that mainstream culture offers don’t inspire us. Right now, there is great interest in the subject of ageing, and it is increasingly relevant to our communities; recently, LGBT Ireland conducted important research into the lived experience of older LGBTQ+ people.

Now, GCN wants to know what our community members think about age and ageing so that we and our community organisations and allies can be better providers. We are interested in activities and ideas that are intergenerational, and we are interested in your attitudes to age and ageing.

The survey is totally anonymous.
