The Cities of Farmington and Farmington Hills are conducting a joint Broadband Feasibility Study to determine whether the community supports bringing in a fiber optic network to provide faster, more reliable, and less expensive internet service.

This would be a new independent fiber optic network (separate from the existing phone and cable company networks) that could provide gigabit internet speeds and also be capable of carrying telephone and cable service. Gigabit internet is the next generation of broadband internet service, which is typically delivered over fiber optic lines and provides speeds of 1,000Mbps, also referred to as “1 Gbps” or “Gigabit” internet.

By taking this short survey, you will help the community determine the level of interest in pursuing a faster fiber optic network.
