The Goodhue County Health and Human Services Department (GCHHS)  seeks your assistance in order to improve our ability to communicate rapidly with the deaf, deafblind, vision impaired, and hard of hearing residents in Goodhue County.

In the event of a pubic health emergency, GCHHS needs to be able to provide information to all people living in the County.  Current notification methods include press releases to local radio stations and news papers, postings on the County website and Facebook pages, and the CodeRed emergency notification system.  While these methods can be effective in providing both fast notifications and guidance to go to the web-based pages for more information, our concern is we may be missing sections of the population.

We need your input to:
1) ensure emergency messages / alerts are received in timely manner by the deaf, deaf-blind, vision impaired, and hard of hearing communities;    and
2) effectively provide more details and follow-up information to the deaf, deaf-blind, vision impaired, and hard of hearing communities.

If you have a family member or provide care for someone and you are answering this survey on their behalf, all references to 'you' in the following questions should be answered in regards to their uses and preferences
