Global Anti-Counterfeiting Awards 2017

2017 sees the nineteenth year of the Global Anti-Counterfeiting Awards judged annually by delegates from Managing Intellectual Property, the GACG Network members and representatives of previous winners. The 2017 Awards ceremony will be held in Paris, France, on 7th June 2017 on World Anti-Counterfeiting Day.


Please carefully read the following guidance before making your nominations.
 
1.    The deadline to submit your nominations is Friday 30th April 2017

2.    Nominations are made through the organisers, Managing Intellectual Property and GACG. Multiple nominations are permitted (i.e. all appropriate organisations can make several nominations in any given category and/or nominations in more than one category).

3. Nominations are made through this questionnaire and should include all relevant supporting information for the judges.  The judges may request for further information to be provided.

4. In each of the categories described below, nominees can be either organisations or individuals who have made an exceptional contribution to the international anti-counterfeiting movement in 2016 and up to March 2017. In the case of organisations, please nominate a representative individual responsible for directing the activities in question.  In the case of specific individual nominations please indicate whether the award is for ‘long-term’ or ‘lifetime’ achievement.

                                           
                                                        Award Categories

National Public Body: national enforcement agencies (e.g. police or Customs); government departments (e.g. national IP office and IP enforcement departments); specialised agencies (e.g. national medicines or drugs control agencies etc.). Please note that nominations in this category should relate to activity with an international context.

International Public Organisations: IGOs or departments/divisions of IGOs such as IP Crime units of WCO or Interpol; relevant departments of WIPO or related UN agencies; and regional governments organisations such as EU, ASEAN, Mercosur etc.

Companies: any company or commercial organisation (IP rights holders), or collaborating group of companies, such as single industry groups) experiencing counterfeiting or piracy issues including infringement of certification marks. 

Groups/Associations: any national, regional, international trade or pan-industry association such as anti-counterfeiting/anti-piracy groups or IPR enforcement coalitions.

Professional/Technology Services: any company or organisation which provides professional or technology services to the IPR enforcement campaign.  Nominees in this category must be supported by a specific IPR owner or IPR owners’ group.

Media: any media or public awareness entity, public or private, print or broadcast and including for example museums, exhibitions or single media events. Nominees in this category must be supported by an IPR owner or IPR owners’ group.
