Internal auditors, we know, are a rare breed. To perform well in our jobs we must have a set of skills that are typically uncommon in one person. For example, we should be analytical with laser-like focus, while also being people oriented with great communication skills. We need to be possess creativity and curiosity to blaze new trails. No one ever said it was easy, but becoming a top internal auditor takes dedication, hard work, and, a particular set of skills. We are looking at the attributes and skills of a successful auditor. 

The point we are attempting to determine is that if you hire people with the right aptitudes and characteristics they will learn the technical, but technical skills without the right aptitudes and characteristics can be lead to auditors not right for the job.
