There will soon be a new trail that runs from downtown Frankfort (behind the credit union) up to the Kentucky State University campus and East Main Street. A portion of the trail will run on top of what used to be a railroad (long orange line below) line with one fork of the trail traversing the KSU campus (short orange line). Users will get spectacular views of the city and get to experience woodlands and waterfalls. If all goes as planned, the trail will be open to running, biking, skating, and walking in 2016.
Note: the blue line is a planned future phase of the project.
