This survey is designed to help prioritize work for NMA's heavy trail maintenance program that kicks off in September of 2019. NMA was awarded over $420,000 in NOVA and RTP grant funding to make this program come alive . When answering these questions, please keep the definition of heavy trail maintenance in mind. In this survey, heavy trail maintenance is defined as removal of whoops, breaking bumps, ruts, and root staircases. Also in this category are restoring sloughed trail, fixing drainage problems, mitigating trail braiding, mitigating waterway siltation and repairing switchbacks.
