WORKSHOP: Managing the Pediatric Airway in the Community: Confidence, Competence, and Crisis Readiness

Learning Objective:

After attending this workshop, the participants will be able to:
  1. Apply a structured approach to pediatric airway management including preparation, airway device selection, and escalation strategies.
  2. Demonstrate core pediatric airway skills including mask ventilation, supraglottic airway placement, and tracheal intubation using video laryngoscopy.
  3. Recognize and manage pediatric airway failure, including early identification of a cannot-intubate–cannot-oxygenate (CICO) scenario and appropriate escalation.
  4. Apply crisis resource management principles to optimize team performance during pediatric airway emergencies.
  5. Identify opportunities to improve pediatric airway preparedness within their own clinical environments.
