Survey Questions for Precasters

Dear Industry Professional,

We are conducting a research project entitled “Development of Precast Girder Transport Vehicle Stability Analysis Parameters” funded by the PCI. This project is intended to: (1) clearly quantify transport vehicle stability analysis parameters, most importantly rotational stiffness; and (2) define a protocol for specifying and verifying those parameters for contracting. Because the outcome of this project will affect many of you who handle long precast prestressed concrete girders, we strongly encourage your participation and your assistance is truly appreciated. If you have any questions or would like to provide additional information, please feel free to contact C. Shawn Sun (shawn.sun@csun.edu) or Maher Tadros (maher.tadros@econstruct.us).

.Respondent information (This information is being collected for follow-up correspondence only and will not be used for other purposes)
.What is the maximum length of precast prestressed concrete bridge girders that your company has produced?
.Does your company transport the long precast prestressed concrete girders on your own?
.If your answer to Question 3 is "Yes", would you please complete a survey for haulers using the link below? Click the box if you will do so.
.If your answer to Question 3 is "No", please provide the contact information of your hauler(s).
.If your answer to Question 3 is "No", would you please ask your haulers to complete a survey using the following link: https://www.surveymonkey.com/r/BSLTJGW
.Does your company use a truck to move the long precast prestressed concrete girders in the fabrication facility (e.g., from the bed to storage)?
.If your answer to Question 7 is "Yes", please provide the following information on the truck:
.Have you, or specialty engineers, or haulers measured the transport vehicle’s rotational stiffness?
.If your answer to Question 9 is "Yes" , the vehicle’s rotational stiffness was measured by:
.If your answer to Question 9 is "Yes" , what method was used to measure the rotational stiffness?
.May we contact you to ask additional questions regarding your survey responses and experiences with girder transportation?
.Are you willing to assist our research team in measuring the transport vehicle’s characteristic parameters, including the rotational stiffness?
