It’s our ninth annual awards!

Pro Moviemaker’s Gear of the Year Awards 2025 celebrate the finest filmmaking hardware, software and services in the industry.

Now in their ninth year, these awards are a trusted benchmark of excellence, voted for by the people who matter most – professional filmmakers who use the gear daily. From breakthrough releases to proven workhorses, the awards honour real-world innovation, durability and value.

The Pro Moviemaker team has shortlisted standout products across cameras, lenses, lighting, audio, editing, support and more. Special emphasis is placed on cameras, from mirrorless to cinema and PTZ units. But this year, we’re debuting two new categories to reflect industry changes: one for content creator cameras and another for video podcasting and livestreaming equipment.

It’s not just about tools – we also recognise essential service providers, including rental houses, gear retailers and repair experts who keep productions running smoothly.

You don’t need to choose a winner in every category, just those you have a strong opinion about. Plus, our Editor’s Choice awards spotlight exceptional products that deliver unique innovation and real-world impact.

Ballots run until 1 September 2025, so you’ve got plenty of time to consider where to cast – and everyone who votes will be entered into a prize draw. The first name pulled out at random will win a case of champagne!
