About This Survey
In collaboration with West Linton and Carlops Community Development Trust, South of Scotland Community Housing (SOSCH) is seeking and welcomes your views on affordable housing in and around West Linton and Carlops. The survey is designed for anyone currently living in West Linton or Carlops, or with a desire to move into the area.
This survey is conducted by SOSCH. SOSCH is a Scottish Charitable Incorporated Organisation (SCIO) that provides support to community-led housing and regeneration across the South of Scotland area as an affordable housing enabler. We provide expert advice to community organisations at each stage of a housing project, from conception, through all project development and viability assessment phases, during the delivery and construction phase, and through to arrangements for post-occupancy.

- You have had to leave the area due to housing issues.
Your answers will help us understand and quantify the affordable housing need and demand in West Linton and Carlops. We will use the results of this survey to develop a Housing Need and Demand Assessment Report covering the West Linton and Carlops area. The report will be available to everyone: local residents, local elected reps, local community councils, our local council, Scottish Borders council, national and regional policy makers, housebuilders and providers, etc. It is designed to empower and help communities to plan, design and deliver what they identify as being needed.
The survey will take around 10 minutes. Your participation is completely voluntary and confidential. You can stop the survey at any time.
You will find a 'please explain' prompt and text box available for many of the questions, should you require or wish to provide additional context to your answers. Please do not include personally identifying information in your responses.
All survey responses are anonymous and the SOSCH team will never publish or share individual data or any identifiable information. All information received through the survey will be for SOSCH internal purposes only and subject to our organisational GDPR policy.
If you have questions about the survey or community-led housing, please contact: Laura Dalgetty, Community-led Housing Coordinator for SOSCH, laura.dalgetty@sosch.org.
