The Hong Kong Ethical Data Stewardship and Assessment Framework
Ethics Truly by Design

To meet the challenges presented by the proliferation of advanced data processing activities to personal data protection, the Privacy Commissioner for Personal Data, Hong Kong (PCPD) has commissioned the Information Accountability Foundation (IAF) to find the way out for both data users and data subjects in the digital economy.

PCPD and IAF will present a practical framework that organisations can adapt to put key ethical data values into practice and will discuss its interoperability with other regimes.  Interacting with Civil Society advocating consumers’ privacy rights, business leaders from Hong Kong and from the West will share their experience of building ethics into business practices.  The audience of this session will get a first-hand view of the outputs of a pioneering project that aims at effecting a cultural change towards ethical data stewardship among organisations in Hong Kong and in regions further afield.
