Award Categories:
Student Leadership - recognizes the highest level of achievement by a graduate student in public health as demonstrated by their academic standing as well as their contribution to and understanding of community public health. These contributions add to the academic community’s knowledge of these needs, enhances their understanding of the concerns of public’s health practitioners, and in so doing helps in their career choices.
Professional Leadership - Recognizes the best of past and present leadership concerned with ensuring the healthiest quality of life for Southern Californians. Those eligible for this award have provided leadership in public health practice, and include, but are not limited to, public officials, policy makers, practitioners, teachers, researchers, and organizations such as grantors, advocates, providers, or governmental entities
Milton and Ruth Roemer - Recognizes an individual with creative and effective contributions in public health practice which embody the contributions and the determination of the Roemers’ in their practice of public health in either:
1. Academic or research
2. Community-based public health programming
3. Other grass-roots efforts
Lifetime Achievement - Recognizes individuals who have made a significant contribution to public service, scholarship, or science in the area of public health practice.
