The 4th SEQ STEM Learning Development Symposium

The University of Queensland is delighted to be hosting the 4th SEQ STEM Learning Development Symposium at the Ship Inn, Southbank on Monday, 17 February 2020.  This event brings together STEM higher education professionals for a day of sharing practice, swapping ideas, and building networks.  The theme for the symposium is "Empowering students to succeed."  We hope that you will consider giving a short presentation (approximately 10 minutes) or running a workshop (30-40 minutes) on an aspect of your work which relates to the theme.

A Little History

The first SEQ STEM Learning Development Symposium was hosted by QUT's STIMulate program at the QUT Gardens Point campus in February 2017.  Subsequent symposia were hosted by the University of the Sunshine Coast (2017) and Griffith University (2018).

A Few More Details About the Event

A Few More Details About the Theme

Our teaching and learning design often aim well beyond content delivery.  We aim to equip our students with skills, tools and self-awareness that will serve them well in our course, the next course, their first job and throughout their lives.  In short, we aim to empower them to succeed.   We encourage you to interpret the theme broadly.

About This Form

Using this form you can express your interest in attending the event.  You can also express your interest in giving a short presentation or running a workshop.  This is not the registration form.  That will be available sometime soon.

What Happens Next?

After we hear from you about the presentations and workshops you might give (please provide these details by 5 pm on 1 November, 2019 at the latest), a program committee comprising representatives from a number of universities will put together an academic program for the day.  We will then circulate the program and ask you to confirm your intention to attend the event by registering.
