Future 64: Vandeventer bridges and interchange updates at Grand

The Missouri Department of Transportation (MoDOT) has been working with the community to determine the future of the corridor in terms of needs and desired outcomes. With a major bridge reconstruction project on Interstate 64 over Vandeventer set to begin in 2027, MoDOT is continuing its evaluation and working with partners to come up with a cohesive plan to better integrate the existing roadways, interchanges, surface streets, and bicycle/pedestrian access. As a part of on-going bridge maintenance and continuing efforts to maintain Missouri interstates and roadways, MoDOT needs to complete significant maintenance on the Interstate 64 bridges over Vandeventer. The eastbound interstate bridge has reached the end of it's useful life and needs to be replaced, while the westbound bridge is scheduled for significant rehabilitation. While the eastbound bridge is closed, the department has planned to make updates to the eastbound I-64 and Grand Boulevard interchange. This work is expected to start in late 2027.
