Make Burnthouse Lane Safe for Walkers and Cyclists

Burnthouse Lane is the most direct route between Little Melton and Hethersett, yet it is narrow, unlit and dangerous for pedestrians and cyclists. Despite this, it is used daily by residents and students travelling to and from Hethersett Academy. A recent rural road safety survey showed overwhelming concern from local people that the lane is not fit for purpose and poses a serious risk to life. Norfolk County Council is receiving £15 million from the Government through the Active Travel Fund. We are calling on the Council to use part of this funding to deliver a safe, dedicated pedestrian and cycle path between Little Melton and Hethersett before a serious accident occurs.
