Introduction

A Freeport Village Planning Committee has  been formed to address natural disasters that may occur in Freeport and develop strategies to mitigate against losses. In order to identify and plan for future natural disasters, we need assistance from the citizens of the Village of Freeport.

This questionnaire is designed to help us gauge the level of knowledge local citizens already have about natural disaster issues. Our questionnaire also asks for information you may have about areas vulnerable to any type of natural disaster. The information you provide will help us coordinate activities to reduce the risk of injury or property damage in the future.

You will be asked if your home is located in a floodplain. If you do not know, or are not sure, you may check the following website: https:\\www.floodsmart.gov.

Google Earth users can install the FEMA NFIP flood delineations by going to: https://hazards.fema.gov/femaportal/wps/portal/NFHLWMSkmzdownload
