What is Zoning?
A zoning code is a set of rules regulating how land can and cannot be used. Zoning divides a community into different districts, like residential, commercial, and industrial. These districts determine the type of structures that can be built, where, and how. Zoning impacts many aspects of our everyday lives and how we move about the village. Navigating the zoning code, however, is a complicated process and can impose obstacles to needed change.
