Fossil fuel burning equipment on farms, such as tractors, are a contributor to Greenhouse Gas (GHG) emissions and, in recent years, are driving operating costs up as fuel prices have risen dramatically. Many aspects of farming are dependent on fossil-fuel to power equipment, and there have been no reasonable energy alternatives.
New technology is emerging, or in development, to reduce the need for fossil fuels but there is still a long way to go. We are looking to understand how much is being spent on fossil fuels and, more importantly, for what purpose so that we can offer guidance to the industry and government bodies to direct technology investments and support.
There are 3 topics of information we are looking to collect in this survey:
1) Farm Demographics - Basic information about your farm for the purpose of aggregating responses.
2) Fossil Fuel Consumption - An estimate on fossil fuel usage on your farm for various jobs
3) Your views on electric farm equipment
All information is collected anonymously, and results will only be looked at in aggregate. All results will be publicly available through TruEV Solutions Inc. as well as through OSCIA and OFA.
Once completed, we will ask for an email address to send you a Tim Horton's digital gift card for $10.
