Firefly Health is an Australian company dedicated to improving the daily lives of Australians through the application of digital technology.

Firefly is seeking your help to better understand your concerns about low blood glucose levels, known as hypoglycaemia, as we are developing a device which has been designed to help people with type 1 diabetes better manage low blood glucose levels.

You can have your say on this new technology

Please complete the following survey if you are living with type 1 diabetes. The survey will take approximately 10-15 minutes to complete and your responses are anonymous. At the end of the survey, you can opt in to receive email communications from Firefly.

Firefly will donate $1 to the DANII Foundation for every survey completed by 8pm on Friday 31st March 2017.

What is Firefly?

Firefly is the name of a non-invasive “wearable” device that detects signs of hypoglycaemia in people with type 1 diabetes.

Firefly looks like a wrist watch and is worn overnight. The device helps you monitor for signs of hypoglycaemia while sleeping. Firefly alerts the wearer by vibration and sounding an alarm when the first signs of hypoglycaemia are detected by the device.

The Firefly device is also linked to a mobile phone App (Android and Apple) and if the wearer does not respond to the alarm the App will alert a nominated carer.

Clinical studies in children and adults are currently testing Firefly in the ‘home’ setting.
