This ONE OLL 2nd public draft plan (Mission, Values, Vision, Goals and Objectives) for Our Lady of the Lake is the result of work from several sources.  These include:
  • Input from a survey completed by Executive Council and Futuring Team members
  • Feedback from focus group sessions with school faculty, parish staff, school parents and parishioners
  • Drafts prepared by Futuring Team members on August 15th
  • Additional drafts prepared by the OLL faculty and the Futuring Team on August 29th
  • Feedback to internal drafts from Futuring Team members

  • Input from the September 21-22 Parish/School Summit
  • Feedback on Survey Monkey to the 1st draft plan
  • Work by the Futuring Team on October 10th and October 29th
Several house gatherings and focus groups with parishioners were held in August and  September.  A few more will be held in November.  A final recommended plan will be presented by the Futuring Team to the Executive Council for review, amendment and approval in December 2018.

A long form action plan (Goals, Objectives, Action Steps, Measures, Budget Implications and Responsibilities) will also be developed to assist with ongoing implementation and evaluation.  Implementation will be for the five-year period beginning January 2019 and extending through December 2023.

The sections in this draft plan are as follows:
I.      Introduction
II.     Scriptural Reflection
III.    Mission Statement
IV.    Value Statements
V.     Vision Statement
VI.    Goal Circles/Statements
VII.   Goal & Objective Statements
II.               SCRIPTURAL REFLECTION

Scripture quotes will be suggested for each of the goal statements.  These are offered as a way to help reviewers of this and later drafts pray with and for this process and have a faith context for the plan and goal areas.
III.               MISSION STATEMENTS

Why does Our Lady of the Lake Parish and School exist?  What is their identity and purpose?  What makes the parish and school unique or distinctive?  This statement is usually 30 words or less without jargon and is able to be recited from memory.  At this time, separate parish and school mission statement drafts are being created.

IV.                      VALUE STATEMENTS

These statements reflect the core values or key beliefs of Our Lady of the Lake Parish and School.  Values are guiding principles of conduct.  They are often implicit within organizations, but are most helpful when made explicit.  Will living out these values help our parish/school faith community live out its mission and live into its vision?  At this time, a combined list of parish and school value statements is being created.

V.               VISION STATEMENT

What will Our Lady of the Lake Parish look like once its mission is fully realized?  This is a longer statement, usually more poetic, and written in the present tense as if the vision has been accomplished.  This is also a “seeing” statement and expresses the hoped for results of living out a Mission and the achievement of multiple goals.  At this time, a combined draft parish and school vision statement is being created.

TOWARD A VISION STATEMENT – VISION 2023

We are ONE OLL – one community seeking oneness in God and oneness as a people.  We are committed to living our faith day by day and supporting Our Lady of the Lake parish and school – as one family.  ONE OLL calls us to unity not uniformity and to the realization that we are all on a faith journey together with all our differences.

We are truly an open, inclusive family.  We love all our neighbors.  We celebrate our differences and share in our commonalities as we are all made in the image of God.  Our Masses are full, overflowing with praise, reverence, and gratitude.

Our Lady of the Lake Catholic School is grounded in our strong Catholic identity that permeates all aspects of our school.  We build a worldview that inspires our children to be global citizens.

We embrace each individual, wherever they are in their spiritual journey. We pray together and nurture one another to grow deeper in our faith and trust in God.  We reach outside ourselves to be a force of change, advocating for the marginalized and inspiring others.

We have a large, vibrant volunteer community supporting a wide variety of direct service and social justice programs within the parish, school, and community.  Our parish and school are financially secure.  Therefore, we are able to offer more services to parishioners and school families, such as more faith development, social functions, and tuition assistance for the school.  We have strong leadership, providing lay and ordained perspectives, to guide our future with energy.

Our energetic and dynamic Youth and Young Adults enhance the vibrancy of our community.  They participate with zeal and enthusiasm in our services and programs that are designed for their spiritual growth and social development.
