Dear Fennville Community,

Thank you for your ongoing contributions to Fennville Public Schools!

As Fennville Public Schools looks to the future of educating our community’s children, it’s important to understand and plan for how our facilities and sites will continue to provide the best possible environment for their learning and development. We have invested in our school district over the years and that is paying dividends through stable enrollment and expansion in educational offerings from pre-school to college and career prep.

In order to plan accordingly and be good stewards of these public facilities, we have embarked on a facilities assessment process. In this process, all buildings and sites are being evaluated, providing both a snapshot in time and a look forward to the district’s current and anticipated needs.

From a site perspective, the following are being evaluated: traffic flow, separation of pedestrians and vehicles, parking lot sizes and conditions, playground safety, drainage, pavement and concrete conditions and overall accessibility.

From a facility perspective, the following are being evaluated: safety and security in and around the buildings, building envelope (roofing, windows, doors and wall systems), mechanical systems, electrical systems, interior finishes, technology infrastructure, technology equipment, equipment, educational program requirements and operational efficiencies.

It’s anticipated that this process will take 3-4 months in total, with the end goal of having an overview of our current and projected needs, allowing the district to continue to effectively and efficiently plan to manage these great resources.

Please take a few moments to complete the following survey. The intent is to glean feedback from you regarding current facilities, operations and programming as our staff goes through the facilities assessment process. The survey will take 5-10 minutes to complete. Your input is valued and very important to this process.

The facilities assessment process and survey will be open and transparent and we will share information with you as it is obtained and developed.

Please feel free to contact me at any time with questions.

Thank you in advance for your time and for helping to plan for the future of Fennville Public Schools.

Sincerely,

Dirk Weeldreyer
