The Greater Bendigo International Relations Policy adopted in 2014 provides an overarching framework for considering requests for the City’s engagement in the international arena. Since the adoption of this policy in 2014, significant changes have taken place within the region including increased social, cultural and economic connections between the City’s businesses, residents and organisations and overseas organisations.

The Greater Bendigo International Relations Policy seeks to provide greater clarity to guide the City’s overall approach; improve targeting of prospective international relations to ensure that the City receives clear benefits and value for money; and provide greater consistency in approach to future decision making primarily through the adoption of a set of principles.

The City undertook two surveys and two focus group discussions for internal and external stakeholders as part of the initial community engagement process to develop this Draft Policy.

The City is committed to engaging with all stakeholders to get feedback on scope, adequacy and relevancy of this policy and ensure that the Greater Bendigo municipal community concerns and aspirations are consistently understood and considered in the final Greater Bendigo International Relations Policy.

Your feedback on this Draft Greater Bendigo International Relations Policy will help us finalise the City’s international relations policy.
