February Civic Dinner - Data Privacy and Our Civil Rights
Please join us Tuesday, February 11th, 2025, from 5:30-7:30 p.m. for an evening of food, networking, and learning from local advocates invested in advocating for data privacy and awareness of how companies track and surveil their customers and the implications on civil rights, human rights, and equity. Leaders will share with us information about their organization, provide insight on resources and legislation about data privacy, and share their current advocacy efforts. Data privacy impacts protections against search and seizure of technology, location tracking, and facial recognition that when used maliciously can impact reproductive rights, racial justice, and more. They will also provide feedback on how students can be effective advocates for this important social issue.
This event is only accepting 40 students.
The dinner will be held on Central Campus, Marsh Hall, Petrowski Room.
This event is hosted by the Center for Civic Engagement.
