Theme: Mission Possible: The FRYSC Effect

The Fall Institute celebrates the collaborative nature of FRYSCs and their critical work with community partners. In addition to FRYSCs, workshops offer professional learning opportunities for District Contacts, Kentucky Community Education Directors, DCBS Workers, Kentucky Community Schools staff, guidance counselors, principals, and other school district employees plus national guests coordinating FRC programs in other states .

The Family Resource and Youth Services Coalition of Kentucky (FRYSCKy), the Kentucky Division of Family Resource and Youth Services Centers (DFRYSC), and the Kentucky Community Education Association (KCEA) are collaborating in the development of Fall Institute 2025, an incredible learning opportunity and networking celebration. We encourage you to be involved with this exciting conference. Please submit a workshop proposal. A planning committee is already working on details for the conference and will review/select workshops from the proposals that are received. Priority will be given to proposals that focus on:

· Center Operations
· Leadership Skills
· Social & Emotional Needs
· Educational System & Academic Needs
· Family Development
· Child/Youth Health and Development Needs

Proposal Guidelines:
  • NEW in 2025: The Planning Committee will NOT barter workshops for free exhibit space or lodging accommodations. Thank you for understanding.
  • Concurrent Workshops Sessions are 75 minutes in duration.
  • Seating is classroom style unless other arrangements are requested in advance and approved by the Conference Planning Committee.
  • Handouts will not be made. Presenters are asked to submit their handouts in electronic format 3 weeks prior to the event. Conference staff will post all handouts on the FRYSCKy website for attendees to print their own copies prior to event.
  • The lead presenter receives a complimentary Fall Institute registration.
  • Audio/visual requests made on the day of the conference may not be honored.
  • Conference sessions are professional development opportunities and may not incorporate sales presentations.
  • Only lead presenters will be contacted. Lead presenters are responsible for coordinating with any co-presenters.
  • With the limited number of sessions to be offered and the need for a balanced program, we may suggest modifications to proposed workshops.

The description should be written in such a way to attract participants to your session and should reflect the collaborative nature of FRYSCs and their critical work with community and school partners, which may include but are not limited to business leaders, school psychologists, DCBS workers, community educators, Communities in School staff, guidance counselors, principals, other school district employees, and national FRC leaders. The conference sponsors reserve the right to edit workshop descriptions for the event program.

* 5. Audiovisual Needs. All workshop rooms will be set with a LCD projector. Please select other items that you will need for your presentation. Be mindful that all equipment is a rental expense for the conference.  As we try to keep fees low, please request only what is necessary.  Please note that we cannot provide computers or remote controls.  AV requests made on the day of the conference may not be honored.

* 6. Seating Arrangement. The meeting room seating arrangement will be classroom (chairs only, no tables) unless otherwise requested on this form and approved by Conference Planning Committee.

Handouts. Presenter agrees to submit workshop handouts as a PDF by email at least 3 weeks prior to the conference and agrees to let those materials be posted to the FRYSCKy website for attendees to print their own individual copies. If the handout is from a PowerPoint Presentation, please format 3 slides per page and, if possible, in black and white. Providing copies of handouts is the responsibility of the presenter. It is not required. Conference staff will not print handout copies onsite.

* 8. Compensation. The lead presenter receives a complimentary Fall Institute registration. The conference committee will not barter exhibit space or lodging rooms for workshops for presenters using the conference to promote their business. * 9. Presenter's Information. If more than one individual is presenting during the workshop, an organizer/lead presenter must be selected to serve as the primary contact person and will be responsible for communicating with any other presenters.

The Division of Family Resource and Youth Services Centers (DFRYSC) and the Family Resource Youth Services Coalition of Kentucky (FRYSCKY) are committed to ensuring quality training for our Program Coordinators.  Each presenter must be approved by our Training Council before they are allowed to participate in any FRYSC training.  We will contact you to complete the FRYSC Trainer Credential Application and to submit current resumé once we receive your workshop proposal.  Once approved, you will be qualified to train in our organization for 3 years, after which you must reapply.
