Fall 2026 Effective Advocacy for Trial Prosecutors Course Volunteer Juror Questionnaire

Volunteer Juror Information

The Arizona Prosecuting Attorneys’ Advisory Council (“APAAC”) is conducting a weeklong training for new prosecutors regarding how to put on a jury trial. On Friday, September 18, 2026, the last day of the course, the prosecutors will practice the skills they have learned by conducting a mock jury trial.

A total of 24 volunteer jurors are needed for the mock trial. The jurors will report to the Arizona Attorney General’s Office, located at 2005 N Central Ave, Phoenix, AZ 85004, at 8:00 a.m., and must be available to stay until 3:30 p.m. Upon arrival, jurors will receive instructions regarding the training exercise from APAAC staff.

The mock trial will begin with jury selection. Just like a real trial, only a portion of the jurors will be chosen to sit on the jury. Those who are not chosen may stay and observe the trial, or they may leave.

Free parking will be available at the church directly across from the Attorney General's Office, on East Palm Lane. Additionally, pizza lunch will be provided. APAAC is not able to compensate jurors for their time or mileage.

Volunteers must complete the Juror Questionnaire by Monday, August 31, 2026.

For questions #4-8, feel free to provide answers that are different than what you would answer for yourself since the purpose of this jury selection exercise is to give the students an opportunity to handle various situations. For example, on question #8 which asks "Have you or any of your close family or friends been accused of a crime?" you may answer the opposite of what is actually true.
