Conference Overview

The National Supported Employment Conference is the largest Canadian event focusing on supported employment.The conference is a unique forum to exchange about the challenges and opportunities related to supported employment (from both human resources and employment support points of view), to examine current trends, to learn about specific disabilities and available accommodation methods, as well as to share creative ideas and best practices. 

The 25th annual conference presented by the Canadian Association for Supported Employment(CASE) will be organized jointly with local host MSEN (Manitoba Supported Employment Network). The conference will take place in Winnipeg, from June 9th-11th 2020.
Why Present?

 As a Presenter, you will have the chance to:

·       Help bring further knowledge to the field of supported employment, for the benefit of all people with disabilities;
·       Share your best practices within provincial and national supported employment networks;
·       Present to major stakeholders and influencers, who may promote your work in their networks;
·       Reach out to 400 delegates specifically related to the field of supported employment;
·       Establish yourself as an influencer in the field;
·       Demonstrate publicly your social concern about the topic;
·       Contribute, by your support, to raising awareness about the importance of supported employment.
Content priorities

Of the 350 expected delegates coming from all over Canada, we estimate that 25% will be from the business sector and 75% will consist of the supported employment related fields.

Presentations should be focused on (but not limited to) sharing factual information or scientific data about:

   1. Best practices, innovation and challenges related to employment integration / business start-up (before, during and after) / or vocational training, and specifically geared to people with disabilities;

   2. Different types of disabilities, for a better understanding and better support;
   3. New tools that can enable or contribute to the employment integration of people with disabilities.

Accommodation
Room rate: $169/night under the block name: Canadian Association for Supported Employment (CASE)

Language
You are welcome to submit proposal in French or English. Please indicate the language you will be presenting. English / French

Length

Workshop format is a 60-minute session, plus 15 minutes for questions and answers, for a total of 75 minutes.

Deadline

Proposals must be received no later than 11:59 pm ET, December 6th, 2019.Later proposals might be considered, but possibly added to a waiting list.
Proposals will be reviewed by the Program Planning Committee and CASE board. Persons submitting proposals will be notified of the outcome of the decision by January 2020.
Review Criteria
•              Content is consistent with content priorities and is relevant to attendees and theme
•              Well-defined topic with clear learning objectives
•              Original and timely material 
•              Overall perceived quality of session content 
•              Completeness of presentation proposal 

Registration
A 50% discount will be offered on the registration fee to the primary presenter of each workshop. A promotional code will be sent by email. Presenters are encouraged to register and attend the conference, but are not required to do so. Registration will open in February, 2020.

Audio-visual (A/V) requirements
Presenters are required to fill in the “Audio Visual Requirements” part of the Proposal form to ensure the room is setup as required. A/V requirements which are not listed in the form will be at the presenter's own expense.

Obligations

Presenters must
•               Provide an electronic copy of their presentation before May 2020.
•               Allow to post their final presentation on the conference website after the conference.
•               Check in 15 minutes before presentation to ensure that final presentation displays properly with the AV equipment.
