Manchester Active Accessibility Consultation

This survey aims to gather information
from disabled people and unpaid carers across
Manchester, to find out what barriers disabled people
face in moving and keeping active, and how these
barriers could be removed. This includes how we can
make our Physical Activity Referral Service (PARS)
provision more accessible, as well as other activity &
movement sessions set up by Manchester Active.

This will also inform how we approach partners and our
expectations of them moving forward. Currently, we are
working to train all Manchester Active staff in the Social
Model of Disability to help us understand the external
factors that will stop disabled people from doing what
they want.

If you are an unpaid carer or professional who
supports a disabled person whose barriers are too
significant to complete the survey themselves, please
answer questions according to your best knowledge
and experience of the person’s needs, barriers, and
interests.

Note: Physical activity refers to any movement. This might be
for fun, to stay fit, or to travel from place to place. Examples
include football, running, swimming, gardening, walking the
dog, stretching, playing with your children, or physiotherapy.
