About the CL Buddy Programme
The CL FYE Buddy Programme is a non-academic mentoring programme that links senior students to first year students. Each mentor (known as a Buddy) is linked to at least 15 students during the Orientation Week to help them transition well into the University. The Buddies act as a medium for the University to pass on important information throughout the year and help them navigate their first year of studies. The Buddy is an elder brother/sister, mentor or a friend to the first year student.
Importance of the Buddy Programme
Overall, the Programme helps first year students have a smooth transition to the University which in turn helps the first year students continue on with their studies and helps the University retain the students, adding to the overall enrolled numbers for the University. It enriches the University’s support system for its students. The programme enables students to have a holistic campus life experience during their time with the University.
