Community Arts Program Information

The Community Arts Program (CAP) provides support and opportunities for artists and cultural organizations to teach, perform, and exhibit at host facilities around the City to showcase and celebrate the community’s unique history and varied ethnic heritage. This program is designed to encourage creative interaction among artists, residents, schools and neighborhoods, as well as to encourage collaboration between artists and community-based organizations/services.
By submitting this form, the Community Host agrees to the following:
  • The Community Host will submit the Community Host Agreement Form at least ten (10) business days before the proposed date of the service. Failure to do so will result in the cancellation of the service or non-payment for the artist/organization.
  • The Community Host will provide a facility/space at no charge to the artist or organization providing the CAP service. There will be no charge for audience /participants to take part in the CAP service.
    • Please be aware, some services require performance stages and will be loud in nature. 
  • The City will not be required to provide any assistance in the coordination, other than provide the artistic fees.  
  • Changes to the date or time of the service, must be communicated to MCAD as soon as possible, but not less than five (5) business days in advance of scheduled visit. Rescheduling should occur only in the event of an unforeseen circumstance.
  • The Community Host is expected to generate publicity to ensure adequate attendance. 
  •  The Community Host should provide credit for the City at each presentation with the following credit line:  “This workshop is sponsored by the City of El Paso Museums and Cultural Affairs Department.” The MCAD logo may also be used in promotion. 
  •  The Community Host will also include the aforementioned credit line in any printed materials used for promotion or implementation of activities associated with the performance of this Agreement.
  • The community host must complete an online evaluation form within seven (7) business days following the presentation. The link to the evaluation is:  
    • Failure to participate in the evaluation process may result in the host forfeiting future workshop opportunities and the withholding of payment from the artist or presenting organization.
  • The artist/organization is responsible for ensuring the completion of these evaluations.
