WV Parent Training and Information - GUIDING THE JOURNEY 2025-2026
In collaboration with the WV Department of Education, OSEP—Guideposts to Graduation, WV Parent Training and Information or WVPTI is pleased to continue the GUIDING THE JOURNEY, A Transition Training Program for Parents for a third year of supporting parents and caregivers of transition-age and younger students.
Thank you for your interest in the Guiding the Journey Program. During this training, you will receive special training, information, resources, national and community speakers, and individual support. In addition to receiving training on ChartingTheLife (CTL) by a CTL Ambassador, you will learn about the changing ‘parent role’ and what you can do to support your youth during post-secondary transition. We will invite speakers from statewide organizations to provide additional information and resources that parents need to know are available.
Your Commitment
We only ask for your commitment to attend the virtual sessions to enable you to receive full benefit of this program.
You will meet as a group from September 2025 through May 2026. We estimate the time commitment to be an average of 1 to 1.5 hours per month for meetings. Meetings will be held virtually once a month during the weekday evening hours. If you cannot make it, we will meet with you for a one-on-one makeup session.
