Elaine Wilson Scholarship for Community Health Outreach and Public Service Scholarship Application
A $2,500 scholarship will be awarded to a resident of either the North End or Charlestown neighborhoods of Boston who is a matriculating student or applying to an institution of higher learning, (college or university) pursing studies in healthcare, public health, or healthcare administration. The recipient must demonstrate a strong commitment to the health of their neighborhood and a passion to provide healthcare (supports and resources included) to those who are low income, underserved or facing health inequities. The recipient of this scholarship must show that they are actively involved in initiatives or passionate about reducing healthcare disparities, improving the health of communities, or involved in volunteer work or employment in the field of healthcare or public health. Applicants must apply using the application below along with a short essay (no longer than two typed pages) detailing examples of their activities within their neighborhoods or communities, as well as how continuing their education will assist in furthering their career within the healthcare field.
