Boy Scout Troop 191 relies on the involvement of engaged parents. We are in need of the following leaders to make our Troop thrive:

Assistant Scoutmasters (ASM) are the uniformed adults that work directly with the Scouts at Troop Meetings and other events. Scouts lead, but Assistant Scoutmasters are right beside them helping make everything happen.

Parent Committee Members
meet once a month (during Troop Meetings) to manage the business side of the Troop. In addition, some Committee Members have specific leadership positions within the Committee. Most Committee activities involve working with other adults, not the Scouts.

Merit Badge Counselors work directly with Scouts as they learn about more than 135 different subjects. The Scouts do the work, but Merit Badge Counselors are there to guide them and confirm that they met the requirements. This position requires effort when requested by the Scouts, but does not require a monthly commitment.

Event Leaders coordinate campouts and other standalone Troop activities. This position requires planning around the time of the event, but does not require a monthly commitment.

Note that ASM’s cannot be Committee Members (or vice versa) since their meetings occur at the same time. However, any adult can be a Merit Badge Counselor and/or Event Leader in addition to other positions in the Troop.

Please complete the following quick survey to let us know how you can help lead our Scouts. There are a total of 6 questions. Thanks!
