Core Elements Feedback Form

The primary obligation of the FWCP is to compensate for dam impacts to fish, wildlife, and their habitats resulting from construction of BC Hydro dams.

Since 2011, regional actions plans have defined priority fish and wildlife projects eligible for FWCP funding. In 2025 the FWCP initiated a process to renew how it communicates its priorities and evaluates potential projects for funding. When complete in 2027, this process will result in guidance documents that define our funding priorities for compensation projects in each region.

The new regional funding priorities will align with our primary obligation to compensate for dam impacts. The funding priorities will also reflect First Nation values, and conservation priorities within the watersheds impacted by construction of BC Hydro dams. Broader First Nations and interest holder engagement about these new funding priorities is planned for later in 2026.

Your early input will be considered in the development of funding priorities in each of our regions. Your feedback is anonymous unless you request more information from our region managers at the end of this form.
