KSDE 2026 Higher Ed preparation program standards revisions

KSDE is seeking content-area experts from P12 and higher education to revise the program standards used by college and university educator preparation programs in the following license/endorsement areas:

Art PreK-12
Biology 6-12
Chemistry 6-12
Earth and Space Science 6-12
English for Speakers of Other Languages K-6, 5-8, 6-12, PreK-12
Gifted PreK-12
Library Media Specialist PreK-12
Music / Instrumental / Vocal PreK-12
Physics 6-12
School Counselor PreK-12
School Psychologist B-3, PreK-12
Science 5-8

The committees for each content area will be composed of approximately 8-12 members total: 4-6 members from P12 and 4-6 members from higher education.

At each content area's first meeting, committee members will select dates for future meetings, approximately 4-6 weeks apart, hoping for Spring 2027 or later completion of the standards drafts and crosswalks.
