King County Metro Equity Cabinet is seeking community members with personal and professional affiliations with Black, Indigenous, People of Color (BIPOC) and/or other communities to apply for current open seats. If you are passionate about transportation equity, please apply!

Desired Qualifications:
  • Currently connected to King County via cultural activities, unpaid and paid working, spiritual practice, learning, receiving services, and/or as a displaced community retaining relationships.
  • Have lived experiences and/or professional knowledge on transportation related challenges experienced by priority populations.
  • Experience institutional racism or work or volunteer in solidarity with communities that is committed to dismantling racism.
Applications will be reviewed by current Cabinet members and Metro staff. Individuals will be contacted by email by February 18, 2022. If selected, members are expected to serve a two year term (2022-2023) and are compensated $75 per hour. Equity Cabinet meetings are held once a month for 2 hours and switch every other month from afternoon and evening times. We are considering changing meeting times to accommodate more schedules, so you are encouraged to apply, even if unsure the times will work for you. Meetings are held virtually, but hope to meet again in person once King County Guidance allows us to convene in person.
