Equity Lab: Recruitment and Retention of Effective Educators

Please join us for a working and learning session focused on providing equitable access to effective educators through recruitment and retention. The 6-hour session, facilitated by KDE staff, will provide the opportunity for school teams to discuss how equity and human capital management are related and to strategize about ways to recruit and retain effective and diverse educators so that students experience increasingly positive outcomes. Teams will have the opportunity to work together and with other school teams to network and collaborate around human capital management challenges.

Who should attend? 3-5 member school teams, including at least a principal, a teacher, and a school/district human resource administrator; optional team members include a parent, an SBDM member, or other school-based personnel.

Team members may include district representatives, classroom teachers, SBDM council members, principals, etc. It is recommended that teams consist of at least 4 members including at least one representative from each: district administration, school administration, and teacher.(Required.)
