Welcome to MPG Studios Survey on Business Rates

Thank you for taking part in the survey. The Music Producers Guild is collecting economic evidence on how business rates continue to adversely affect recording studios across the UK. The data collected will allow us to put a clear, costed case for rates relief to HM Treasury ahead of this autumn's budget. Recently, Music Venues got a further 20% cut, and despite intense lobbying, our efforts have failed because of a lack of data. This survey will hopefully fix that.

This survey is for anyone who owns/runs a studio in the UK (only). The term studio is quite broad and is covered in the piece.

A few things before we start:
Answer for your main studio, if your business occupies more than one rated property.

All financial questions are optional, and approximate figures or bands are genuinely useful. Please don't abandon the survey if you're unsure about an exact number. Rough estimates still make the economic case.

Your individual responses are confidential. Only anonymised, aggregated findings will be published or shared with government. Unless you explicitly opt in at the end to be named and contacted.

Contact details (optional, final page) are stored separately from your survey answers.
