November is National Novel Writing Month (NaNoWriMo) where writers participate to write 50,000 words in a single month. Writing an entire novel may be a tough for a single student but not for an entire class!

If your class writes over 50,000 words in November, we'll reward your students with a special badge in COW and a certificate! We're calling it the NaNoCOWMoo Challenge

All classes are automatically enrolled in the NaNoCOWMoo challenge. We will post a leaderboard on the front page of the website, so classes can easily track how they are doing and race to be the first one to complete the challenge.

In order to protect the privacy of you and your students, we will default to naming all classes as “Class from <City>, <State/Province>.” If you would like to provide a class name to use instead, please fill out the form below and let us know how you would like to be identified.

After you are done with this form, please register as an educator with NaNoWriMo so that you can receive tons of great writing resources from them. In particular, check out the NaNoWriMo Young Writer's Program and their resources for Educators and Student Writers!

We can't wait to see what your students will accomplish this November. Happy writing!

How you want your class name to appear on the leaderboard?

Ex: “Mr. Brown’s 4th grade COW Writers, Boston MA” or "The 4th grade Knights of Write-a-lot"
