Hello!

We are in the process of accepting applications for our Mental Health Working group for UMSU. The mission of this working group is to work together in the spirit of collaboration to create and improve upon resources for student mental health and wellbeing at the University of Manitoba. It aims to do so by evaluating student concerns and pre-existing tools provided by UMSU and the University; while working together with the UMSU Board of Directors to steer and pass motions which bolster student supports.

We are in need of:
  • 4 members from the UMSU Board of Directors – by application
  • Any other interested UMSU member – by application (number TBD)
  • Any interested President, Senior stick or designate from faculty associations – by application (number TBD)
We will be selecting candidates based on their resume/documents submitted, their reason for application and their background at the UM. However, keep in mind we will not evaluate applicants differently if they don't have one or more of these credentials. Diversity and background that can help inform our work will continue to be important for us!

Every candidate must be in good academic standing, be an UMSU member, be able to discuss and communicate sensitive topics, and be passionate about student mental health in our university.

There is no current maximum for applications right now, however, please be advised that we are not looking to exceed a group of more than 15 members at this time.

Please submit your applications by July 10th at 8 am. If you have been accepted to join the working group, you will hear from us by 9:00 am on July 15th.
