2019-2023 New York State Draft Plan on Aging Survey
The federal Older Americans Act (OAA) of 1965 requires that each state submit a multi-year plan to the Administration for Community Living (ACL). The OAA requires states to engage in a public input process to solicit advice and guidance from consumers, providers, advocates and families on the proposed plan. One of the mechanisms to gather public input is through this survey mechanism.
The public process serves as an opportunity to describe in greater detail the programs and services financed under the OAA, to describe how they are integrated with state general fund programs serving older adults and caregivers, to recognize the importance of key programs, initiatives and services designed to serve older New Yorkers and their caregivers and provide an opportunity for the public to weigh in on the plan's goals, strategies and expected outcomes over the next 4 years.
Directions for Survey Respondents Each of the plan’s seven goals is separated into its own question. Each question allows for a 500 word response. You don’t need to answer all of the questions, just address those that are of interest to you.
In your responses, please reference specific objectives, strategies and outcomes that are outlined in the first draft working Plan.
