Thank you for your interest in the 2023 Foothills Area Health Education Center's (AHEC) First in Family Scholarship.
Access to higher education is an important measure of progress, and Foothills AHEC is committed to helping students in our region attain health careers that will ultimately grow and support the diversity of our healthcare workforce in Northeast Georgia. Understanding the insurmountable financial challenges some students in our communities face when making the choice to pursue a post-secondary degree, the Foothills AHEC First in Family Scholarship was developed for a student who will be the first in their immediate family to attend a college or university.
A scholarship in the amount of $4,000 will be awarded to one student pursuing a degree in a healthcare-related field. The award will be sent directly to the financial aid office of the school they plan to attend. It is Foothills AHEC's goal to continue helping students realize their dreams and to support a more diverse Healthcare workforce in our region.
After completing the online application, you will need to submit a copy of your official transcript, via mail or email, no later than 5:00 P.M. on May 1, 2023. Only complete applications with accompanying official transcripts will be reviewed.
