Question Title

* Goal 1: High Academic Achievement for Each Student

By June 2019, all Union Elementary School District students will meet or exceed the state average as measured by AzMERIT.

Action Steps:

1.      100% of Union Elementary School District classrooms will use adopted materials for core reading and math instruction as observed in classroom walkthroughs.

2.      100% of Union Elementary School District students will meet district expectations as measured by district benchmark testing at the end of the year by May 30, 2018.

3.      100% of Union Elementary School District classrooms will have written weekly lesson plans following the strategic instructional design model as observed in classroom walkthroughs.

Question Title

* Goal 2: Attract and Retain High Quality Staff

By May 30, 2019 Union Elementary School District will have a staff retention rate of 90% or higher for certified staff and educational support professional staff.

Action Steps:

1.      Union Elementary School District will have competitive salaries that fall within 10% of cohort districts for all classifications by June 1, 2017.

2.      Union Elementary School District will develop an explicit process to retain high quality staff by January 30, 2018.

3.      Union Elementary School District will develop an explicit coaching process as part of the evaluation process to retain high quality staff by January 30, 2018.

* Goal 3: 21st Century Learning and Working Environment

By June 2019, all Union Elementary School District students and staff will have access to learning environments which are clean, safe, orderly and conducive to learning and working in a supportive environment as measured by district surveys.

 Action Steps:

1.      Union Elementary School District will generate a comprehensive technology plan to maximize student learning by June 1, 2017.

2.      Union Elementary School District will establish a technology plan that includes funding supports to ensure uniformity in all classrooms by June 1, 2018.

3.      Union Elementary School District will identify communication tools that reach students, staff and parents and put them into use on a regular basis by August 1, 2017.
