2023 SCGV Zoetis Ovine Scholarship

BACKGROUND TO THE AWARD

This scholarship is a wonderful opportunity for students to grow their interest and network with veterinarians and industry experts that are currently servicing the Australian sheep, camelid and goat market.

SCGV greatly values the ongoing support of Zoetis in sponsoring this scholarship for three veterinary students.

 
SCHOLARSHIP INCLUSIONS

The winners will be supported to attend the 2023 SCGV Conference at the All Seasons Resort, Bendigo, 23-25 August.

- Full registration for the 2023 SCGV Conference, including:
        - Full scientific program
        - Access to exhibition area
        - Meals provided to delegates (morning tea, lunch and afternoon tea)

 - Tickets for all evening social events:
        - Welcome Event – Tuesday 22 August
        - Zoetis Dinner – Wednesday 23 August (TBC)
        - Event Dinner – Thursday 24 August

- Expenses assistance to attend the conference
 
Additionally, winners will receive 1-year FREE membership to SCGV (July 2023 to June 2024), unlocking benefits such as:
        - Free webinars as well as our back-catalogue
        - Newsletters and alerts
        - Quarterly editions of Skirting The Issues
        - And more!
 

SCHOLARSHIP ELIGIBILITY

The Zoetis Ovine Scholarship is open any student enrolled in veterinary science at an Australian university.
 

WINNERS AGREE TO:

- Thank Zoetis by email and in person at the sponsor stand.

- Attend by special invitation the Zoetis Dinner event at the conference (TBC)

- Provide their contact details to Zoetis to facilitate further interaction.
 
- Plan to stay for the whole conference.

- Assist by running mics for questions during the scientific sessions.

- Have their mobile number and email address circulated to SCGV staff members and executive committee members to facilitate communication prior to and at the event.

- Contribute an article to SCGV's journal Skirting The Issues, outlining their experience at the conference and what they have learned.
 
- Allow their photo be published on the Awards section of the AVA website; in Skirting The Issues; in the Australian Veterinary Students Group newsletter; and in other AVA promotional materials.

- Be responsible for any or all other arrangements and expenses (including travel and accommodation) before, during and after the conference.
 

APPLICATION DETAILS

Applicants must complete the SurveyMonkey application form in its entirety to be considered.

Scholarships are available to SCGV members only.

Non-members can join before 9 July 2023 to be considered.

Applications close on Sunday 9 July 2023.

Winners will be notified by the SCGV Office via email once the scholarship recipients have been selected.
 

OTHER INFORMATION

If suitable applicants are not forthcoming, SCGV may vary the award as they see fit.

Winners may, at their own discretion, supplement the prize by using frequent flyer flights and other avenues on agreement by SCGV and the sponsoring company. They should not accept support of any kind from another company to attend the event.
