The Legislative Days Delegation members will attend brief virtual meetings with legislators during the final week of March in order to promote SB 818 and HB 941, bills that would (a) revise F.S. 916.115 to clarify that 491 board licensees (LMHCs, LMFTs, LCSWs) can be appointed by the courts to conduct forensic evaluations; and (b) remove the requirement that registered interns in private practice settings need to have a licensed mental health professional on the premises when providing clinical services (while clarifying that they must have access to a licensed mental health professional while providing clinical services, thus making an adjustment for a telehealth environment). Click here for a summary of our intentions with the bill.  Before these meetings are scheduled, the delegation will meet for a briefing to ensure that each member is adequately prepared for the meetings.  It is our intention that delegates will meet with legislators in groups rather than individually.  Prior experience with legislative days events is not required, and we will help you prepare for your meeting(s) with legislators.
