The Fairbanks Metropolitan Area Transportation System (FMATS), in conjunction with the Alaska Department of Transportation and Public Facilities (DOT&PF) and local agency partners, is developing a Regional Freight Mobility Plan (FMP). The purpose of the FMP is to better understand existing freight-oriented attitudes, issues, and needs of the community in order to support on-going planning activities. The FMP will lay out a critical framework for the region's multi-modal freighting system. This plan will be used as a guide in future freight decision-making processes within the region. A successful plan will require participation from various freight stakeholder groups, community organizations, and individual citizens. As part of the attached opinion survey, we look forward to hearing about your concerns and ideas to helping improve freight mobility in Fairbanks for the future. A map with the project boundaries can be found by clicking on the link: Fairbanks FMP Comment Map. The study area within the boundary is of primary concern, but related regional and statewide freight concerns will also be considered for the project. Thank you for participating in FMATS' Public Opinion Survey. Your feedback is important us.
