The Florida Afterschool Network (FAN) is in need of your help.
FAN is working to establish the case for an increase in funds available for afterschool and summer learning programs. Please help us by completing this ten minute survey.
The Florida Afterschool Network is a membership body that promotes the development, enhancement, and accessibility of high quality out of school time programs and policies statewide. Through a grant from the National Conference of State Legislatures, FAN is collecting data around issues of accessibility and availability in afterschool and summer learning programs. The goal of this data collection project is to identify where programs exist statewide and the challenges families may have with locating quality programs for their children.
The desired outcome is to identify where gaps in funding and services may exist so that we can effectively advocate for program resources that support quality expanded learning opportunities for all youth in Florida. The data collected will be used to compile a summary report to share with elected officials, providers and stakeholders.
In order to accomplish this and bring awareness to the importance of out of school time opportunities, we are requesting your assistance. If you are a program manager, coordinator, or director of an afterschool and/or summer program for school-aged children (K-12th grades) you should complete this ten minute survey. If you run multiple sites, please answer questions with all sites in mind. General areas of data collection include: program enrollment, program demographics, program cost, funding, and general program information. For the purpose of identifying afterschool deserts, we will be creating a statewide map with the physical locations of the programs. Other than the physical address, your responses will not be associated with the location of your program.
We absolutely understand that you are busy, so as an added ‘Thank You’, programs that complete the survey will have first access to the final report and county level data. In addition, individuals who complete the survey will be entered to win one free registration to the Florida Afterschool Alliance Annual Conference as well as two $50 American Express Gift Cards that will be drawn at random.
