Greetings prospective FIRST students,

Congratulations on your acceptance to Clemson University! Please read about FIRST program details and note the student requirements. Commit to FIRST and college success - apply below!

Clemson’s top first-generation scholars look forward to serving as your mentor during your first year. Mentors are matched primarily by major. Your mentor will offer academic support and will also help you learn your way around, answer questions you have about the way the University works, and make sure everything is going well for you. Mentors are equipped to assist with transition, campus involvement, development of goals, and establishing connections on campus. All students applying to FIRST will be assigned a FIRST mentor.

Students who join the FIRST program are required to meet with their mentors weekly and attend one FIRST event each month, which will be either a guest speaker or a social event. Students are encouraged to get involved in the FIRST student organization as well. There is a FIRST community center in Vickery Hall on campus, where students can study, meet their mentor or relax and talk with other FIRST students.

After completing the application, you will be added to our list and will be contacted over the summer to confirm your enrollment. You will hear from your FIRST mentor before you get to campus in August. We will have a large Welcome Event the first week of classes, where you can meet our staff and other new and returning FIRST students here at Clemson. Save the date on your calendar: xxxday, August xx, 2018 in the Hendrix Student Center.

Create a calendar in your Clemson google account (or in a planner) - start adding important dates as you know them. This is going to save you later, believe us!
